Mozambique Horse Safari

This collection of photos documents my week spent with Mandy and Pat Retzlaff's amazing herd of horses rescued from Zimbabwe. I mostly rode Evita, the super feisty Arab mare. The horse safari is based in Vilanculos in the stunning Bazaruto Archipelago of Mozambique where riders can gallop at low tide on pristine deserted beaches, up iron rich red sand dunes, passing local fishermen villages along the way. It is the most beautiful location to swim with horses. Pat and Mandy are incredibly generous and spirited. They offer a volunteer program which is perfect to increase equine knowledge. This series is part of a photo book entitled Mozambique Horse Safari.
