Uganda Trek

This series documents my 150km ride around lake Victoria, the source of the Nile in Uganda. A massive thank you goes to Natalie and TJ from Nile Horse Safari for leasing such endurant and brave horses and for guiding us through the Mabira forest and the various rural communities along the way. It is exhilarating to gallop on the iron rich bright orange earth and get to swim with our equine companion in the Nile. My trusted gelding named "Golden Fox" is an exotic cocktail of Irish Sport, American Saddlebred, Thoroughbred and Ethiopian. What an amazing mix. He gave me speedy gallops and showed immense bravery. This ride is a real cultural immersion in the life of rural Uganda.
